Cage bearings that allow more balls to be placed around the knife pivot than standard cage bearings. Which provides more support for the blade and decreasing stress on each ball. The ceramic balls are captured in the disc but are still free floating to prevent binding.
Includes 440C Stainless bearings pre-installed.
- 22% increased blade support over caged bearings of same size
- Improved ball pathing around pivot
- Less pivot screw tightening required
- CNC machined from solid phosphor bronze
- One set equals two individual cage bearings
Cage Bearings, Pivot: 1/4", Stainless Bearings: 1/16 in (13 ball)
They don’t affect the warranty either…for whatever that’s worth. I’ve never returned a knife for warranty repair. I wish someone made a car like a knife. Return to topic, I am probably subjective in thinking they give Hinderer a bit of a Skiff feel. Then again, I just might be objectively finding that they do add a notch to the Hinderer's 'feel.' Try tossing in a set the next time you open your XM-18 to see for yourself.
The workmanship and quality of these bearings is amazing. The extra balls in these bearings over stock bearings definitely provide better strength and stability in the pivot area. Great work, thanks.
My tool broke before I could put them in, luckily I already have a sigil with your bearings! Love them. There’s a reason I ordered them for my next sigil and will be ordering again for the sigil i just got
These stainless steel bearings are perfect drop in replacements on the Hinderer XM18. Since the Hinderer’s run on SS bearings these are great as it won’t void the warranty. I also noticed that these 13 ball bearings followed the same path on the frame as the stock 9 bearings. This is good because I was worried it would create two bearing paths but Nope, runs in the same one the stock bearings made. These bearings do give the XM18 3.5” a much more controlled feel when shutting and definitely easier to center the blade without over-tightening. Great purchase
