1/4" pivot diameter · 22 ceramic balls · 1mm ball size
Swapping to Skiff Workshop bearings is one of the most noticeable upgrades you can make to a folding knife — more blade support, less pivot tightening required, and a smoother feel from the first open. Designed and made in the USA.
Skiff Workshop cage bearings are CNC machined from solid phosphor bronze, an alloy valued for its strength, corrosion resistance, and naturally self-lubricating properties. Each cage is designed to hold more balls around the pivot than standard bearings, distributing load evenly and keeping the blade stable under use.
The balls are Grade 5 silicon nitride ceramic, made to within 5 millionths of an inch of perfect roundness. Harder and lighter than steel, ceramic balls generate less friction and maintain consistent performance over time. The balls are captured in the cage and remain free-floating inside for smooth, consistent rotation.

I put these Skiffs in my AD20s and the difference is night and day. It took all of the scratchy, scraping noise out and made it as smooth as glass. I put Skiffs in every knife I get. We'll done!
These are the smoothest bearings I've ever used. When I put them in I was skeptical. Once everything was put back together and I tried opening my knife it was so smooth and quick I actually thought I had forgotten to put the pivot pin in and the blade was flying out of the handle. Just as smooth as silk. Thank you.
Putting Skiff bearings (or thick washers) in a knife is a simple and inexpensive way to get such a smooth and robust upgrade. I currently own 7 Demko that all have Skiffs in them, and will be ordering more as my collection grows. Just excellent!
works flawlessly on my ad20S, buttery glassy smooth now
