Cage bearings that allow more balls to be placed around the knife pivot than standard cage bearings. Which provides more support for the blade and decreasing stress on each ball. The ceramic balls are captured in the disc but are still free floating to prevent binding.
Includes Grade 5 ceramic bearings pre-installed.
- 22% increased blade support over caged bearings of same size
- Improved ball pathing around pivot
- Less pivot screw tightening required
- CNC machined from solid phosphor bronze
- One set equals two individual cage bearings
They were good replacement
I changed out the bearings on my BBM. It definitely made it smoother.
Absolutely immaculate machining, these bearings are some of the best I've ever had the pleasure of handling.
I bought two sets of bearings for my ZT 0308. They feel much smoother than the original ones. The best bearings on the market in this category of use. Considering that they are impossible to find in Europe, I had to pay shipping fees ($ 50) more than double the value of the two sets of bearings. But I have no regrets, I would do it again without hesitation. For lubrication i use Nano-Oil 10w.
So I have ordered Several sized Skiffs for various knives in my collection. The quality of these ceramic bearings and most importantly the SOLID PB cage compared to most of the cheap one side opened type of caged bearings I’m pulling out and replacing cannot be overstated!! Excellent quality and well worth the investment into your knice knives!
Now Will Skiffs improve your action?? Yes a little bit. I can definitely feel a slightly smoother action. But what’s better is that the extra couple of bearings added surface area not only aides the action, it adds some significant lateral strength to your blade/pivot/frame interface!
So Almost all the Skiffs I got have been a perfect fit per the Skiff websites compatibility chart, however the only issue that I have ever encountered was while installing the:
1/4”, 2mm, 11 ball skiffs for my ZT 0393…The lock side pocket was a perfect fit, but for some reason the Outside diameter of the other skiff bearing was a tad too large to fit into the show side pocket! But it was so close I just decided to use some 2500 grit sand paper to remove some material from the cage… a few minutes of trial & error and it fit in just fine, and the action is noticeably better now, and will only get better with use!
I highly recommend Skiffs for all of your Knice knives!!
