The new bearing compatibility list is now live, check it out here!
Cage bearings that allow more balls to be placed around the knife pivot than standard cage bearings. Which provides more support for the blade and decreasing stress on each ball. The ceramic balls are captured in the disc but are still free floating to prevent binding.
Includes Grade 5 ceramic bearings pre-installed.
- Increased blade support over caged bearings of same size
- Improved ball pathing around pivot
- Less pivot screw tightening required
- CNC machined from solid phosphor bronze

Great products. Definitely made it much another. I plan on swapping more out for these.
Got these 12 ball units to replace the 8 ball Spyderco Smock OEMs. Freshly installed deployment was all in all about 20% smoother. After a week or so, a deep clean and re-oil yielded 35% better performance. Here's the thing static and dynamic friction rarely improves 10 to 15% by polishing phosphor bronze washers, but ceramics have to be good from the start. Size and surface smoothness is fixed. So the improvement comes from the ball bearing polishing the cage they're in and smoothing the blade contact track. Skiff bearings have improved far better than than the OEMs did using the same break-in. cleaning and re-oiling process. Can't imagine using anything but Skiff :).
At this point, I just order Skiffs at the same time I order my knives. I disassemble every brand new knife, clean it, install Skiffs, lube, locktite and reassemble. Now I can sleep at night.
I bought these to improve the action on a beautiful Millit Torrent. They have 4 more bearings in a larger and better cage, and look much more precise under my dissecting scope. So, the value is definitely there. Unfortunately, the knife action is unchanged. Not Skiff's fault so not sure how to rate. I gave 5 stars but that only speaks to the product appearance and not performance. Still hopeful and will try again.
